PreS-K -Louanne Pig feels she has no talent and won't try out for the class talent show, even though all of her friends are excited and practicing hard. Louanne says that "Talent shows are stupid" and pretends to show no interest. However, the master of ceremonies develops laryngitis on the night of the show, and Louanne saves the day by filling in. No longer on the outside, Louanne declares, " I LOVE show biz!" A story of feeling left out and discovering individual talents, this is brightly illustrated with childlike animals who show real character. Carlson knows children and their feelings, and she again shows that she knows how to write for them. Gayle Attruia, Harwinton Consolidated Sch . Lib ., Conn.
