Grades 3-6 The chart-topping country singer gets a swift introduction in this entry in the Day by Day with . . . series. The book's vivid format mixes brief text on multicolored pages with bright, unbordered photographs. Reusser offers quick looks at some of the high points in Swift's career, including singing the national anthem at the World Series in 2008, but also places an emphasis on Swift's relationship with her fans, especially in the way her music reflects what is going on in her personal life. Still, the main draw will likely be the many color photographs of the singer interacting with fans, performing onstage, and hugging friends. Although the series promotes itself for early-elementary-school students, both the content and the text seem more suitable for middle-graders. The Further Reading list is comprised of articles in magazines like Rolling Stone and InStyle, and a few web sources are also appended.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2011, American Library Association.)
